The Meena Blouse in our 'Oxford Paisley' Story.

The semi button-up, collarless blouse is rendered in a rustic, semi-crinckle cotton fabric. 

Fine 'chikankari' paisley embroidery is scattered across the blouse, and a same-tone border embroidery runs cross the neckline and underrms.

Often referred to as 'poetry on fabric', Chikankari embroidery is is a slow process where the outline of the design is block printed on the fabric and then hand-embroidered by artisans. 

The loose threads and knots at the back are imperfections which show the manual nature of the technique.
